We were extremely proud that two of our Head Chefs and Nellsar’s Head of Catering Services were amongst 11 Nellsar staff named as finalists in the prestigious Great British Care Awards 2022.
Seeking to shine a light on the care industry, the awards comprise a series of regional events throughout the UK that celebrate excellence across the sector.
The awards acknowledged Andrew Maclean from St Winifreds Care Home, Cosmin Cristea from Princess Christian Care Home and Nellsar’s Head Catering Services Adrian Silaghi in the ‘Care Home Chef/Cook Award’ category. Adrian was also shortlisted for the ‘Workforce Development Award‘.
We were delighted that the quality of their catering and management was highlighted as being exceptional. It was the first time that three members of our Catering Team were representing Nellsar as finalists at such an esteemed industry event; Nellsar’s Care Catering provision is truly industry-leading.
Along with other Nellsar colleagues, Andrew, Cosmin and Adrian attended the award’s gala dinner event at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton on Friday 18 November, where achievements were shared over a wonderful meal, whilst the awards proceedings were hosted by TV personality James Argent.
Although they were hoping to bring home some awards with their very strong entries, it was not to be on the night. However, we must congratulate them all for their incredible achievements again. They represented St Winifreds, Princess Christian and Nellsar wonderfully at the event and we are very proud of them!
