Trudy, our fantastic Kitchen Assistant at Hengist Field Care Home, has a real talent for creating beautiful cakes which regularly delight residents on their birthdays.
She is very skilled at making cakes and adorning them with eye-catching decorations, amazing us all with her clever designs, neat icing and delicious toppers! What’s more, she is self-taught – bringing what she’s learnt at home to her role with the Catering Team, for everybody to enjoy.
Head Chef Kay (pictured above left with Trudy) says she is a real credit to her team, commenting:
“Trudy has been part of the Hengist Field kitchen family since 2019. She is critical about her own cake skills, being a perfectionist on every one of them! She learnt all her skills from TikTok tips and practise. She is a valued member of the team here, always willing to show her strengths in any area she is asked – especially when cake making! She picks up any shifts when needed and is a problem solver, as well as a woman with a positive attitude. Her sunny disposition is always a welcome sight in the kitchen.”
